Coronation Street fans have said they're 'not doing this again' as they fear a few mentions of a locked-up villain could lead to a return that would rock Lisa Connor-Swain.
Viewers are currently watching the detective sergeant tackle Theo Silverton's murder investigation, having arrested Sarah Platt earlier this week, as well as care for her daughter, Betsy Swain, after she suffered two devastating strokes last week.
Sarah Platt Arrested for Theo's Murder
While Betsy begins her recovery in the hospital, Lisa has been seen cracking on with getting the murder investigation put to bed, and during Tuesday's (July 21) edition of the ITV soap, she was heard telling DC Kit Green that she had enough to charge his partner for killing the abuser.
It's what she has been trying to avoid for months, with the builder's demise taking place back in April, but during Monday's (July 20) edition of Corrie, Sarah found herself being placed into cuffs before being questioned at the police station by Lisa over the abuser's death.
Despite Kit's attempts to help cover up her crime, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of killing Theo. Down at Weatherfield police station, Lisa interrogated Sarah before providing evidence that they had found splatters of Theo's blood on her clothing from the wedding, after her clothes were taken in as evidence from her own attack by Jodie Ramsey, which came after Theo's murder took place.
Fans React to Becky Swain Mentions
During the follow-up episode of Corrie on Tuesday (July 21), Lisa was seen questioning Sarah again, who continued to protest her innocence. But it made no difference as they had no choice but to charge Sarah with Theo's murder.
Meanwhile, the detective also made it clear to Kit that Sarah is their prime suspect and that he is also suspicious that he helped his partner cover up the murder after he was spotted trying to get his hands on Sarah's clothes from the evidence store.
Lisa warned him that if he wanted to keep his career, he needed to stop trying to protect Sarah. Kit didn't take too kindly to Lisa's comments, bringing up her own past, particularly with her ex-wife, Becky Swain, who caused havoc late last year when she returned from the dead.
And Corrie fans fear that the latest mention of Becky could be leading somewhere. @thechanelbootss noted: "multiple Becky mentions in July 2026," to which @MitchD68947 replied: "She's coming back." @AlisonSelw60139 pointed out: "Sarah is in prison, so is Becky as well." @maryssonglor admitted: "I’m really not doing this again please."
