Coronation Street fans were left distracted by the return of a previously seen character to Weatherfield after previous confusion that the actress was lined up to play Becky Swain.
Return of Sienna Sparks Fan Reactions
Last year, there was plenty of detective work being done by fans about who could be playing the ex-wife of DS Lisa Connor-Swain, with Amy Cudden later seen taking on the role when Becky arrived in Weatherfield, years after she was believed to have been killed in the line of duty.
The actress who fans of the ITV soap thought could have been playing her was Charlotte Tyree, who reappeared in Corrie on Tuesday (June 30) as Sienna, Asha Alahan's paramedic colleague.
During the episode, Asha, Nina Lucas, and Amy Barlow call at the bistro to find Summer Spellman already tipsy and hanging out with some guys they met yesterday. When Summer reveals she’s off into town with her new mates, Asha, Nina and Amy are suspicious.
Later, having been summoned to the Bistro, Summer joined Amy, Asha and Nina, who offered up a brunch and explained they’re concerned for her as she’s been overdoing it lately. But Asha ended up being distracted by the arrival of Sienna, and when it became clear that Sienna’s date has stood her up, the girls urged Asha to swoop in.
Fans React to Sienna's Return and Potential Romance
Responding to Sienna's return, and possibly as Asha's new love interest after actress Tanisha Gorey teased that romance is ahead for her character, @Swain__Connor said: "Nice to see the return of OG Becky who wasn't OG Becky at all." @claudiaasiann commented: "OG Becky that turned out not to be Becky is also gay ???? a win."
