Coronation Street fans are still demanding to know one unknown detail about Lisa Connor-Swain, more than five years after she first appeared in Weatherfield. The latest complaint came after a new villain, Ross Wilkes, was shown celebrating his birthday on screen.
Lisa's story so far
The character was first introduced in 2021 when she led the police investigation into the assaults on Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin, which led to the latter's death. It wasn't until early 2024 that the ITV soap announced actress Vicky Myers as one of its new regular cast members.
Since then, Lisa has had a busy couple of years. She embarked upon a relationship with Carla Connor, who became seriously ill. That led to the return of her jailed brother, Rob Donovan, before he left during a siege at No.1 Coronation Street.
Past comes back to haunt
Lisa then struggled with her past, which literally came back to haunt her when her ex-wife, Becky Swain, appeared in the living room of her new home, No.6 Coronation Street, years after she was believed to have been killed in the line of duty. Becky's arrival came days after Lisa and Carla got engaged, and on the 18th birthday of Lisa and Becky's daughter, Betsy.
Becky was soon revealed as a villain with a plan to get her family back. She succeeded in splitting Lisa and Carla, with Carla calling time on their relationship and convincing Betsy they should move to Spain. However, that didn't happen. Despite the dramatics surrounding her eventual demise, Becky was arrested by Lisa herself and sentenced to 12 years for her crimes. Lisa later reunited with Carla, and the pair married in historic Corrie scenes in April. Their family unit, including Carla's nephew Ryan Connor, has gone from strength to strength.
Fans complain about missing birthday
But after Wednesday's (July 29) edition of Corrie, fans issued a complaint about Lisa's story, despite her not appearing in the episode. The comments came after new villain Ross Wilkes was seen having his birthday celebrated by his newfound family, after he was recently revealed as Tyrone Dobbs' long-lost dad.
@Jane69946890611 said: "Ross has to be one of the characters I am least interested in seeing celebrate their birthday on-screen #corrie." @snationed commented: "Tyrone’s abysmal dad has been in #Corrie for five minutes and already had a birthday. You know who hasn’t had a birthday?" alongside a photo of Lisa.
@SwarlaCS4 replied: "Honestly, it’s like a running joke now Lisa no Birthday Connor Swain." @JasminSmiley92 admitted: "It‘s getting ridicolous actually." @kelliebroono added: "Can't believe Ross got a birthday while we are still patiently waiting to hear when Lisa's is... #Corrie."
