Corrie Fans Baffled by Tracy Barlow Change as Ross Romance Continues

Coronation Street fans have been baffled by what they think is a change to Tracy Barlow's character as her new romance with Ross Wilkes continues.

Ross Wilkes Arrives in Weatherfield

As those who follow the ITV soap know, newcomer Ross arrived in Weatherfield earlier this month, and it was long before he was revealed to be Tyrone Dobbs' long-lost father. The big reveal came after Tyrone's children surprised him for his birthday by finding his father through a DNA database. But it came after Tyrone's mum, Cassie Plummer, had already bumped into Ross, and didn't recognise who he was.

Cassie's Encounter with Ross

After having her proposal rejected by Steve McDonald, with an audience of his best mate Tim Metcalfe and ex Tracy Barlow, a deflated Cassie was seen moping around at No.9 Coronation Street, before Tyrone suggested she shouldn't give up and go claim her man once again. But she was upset to find Steve helping Tracy at her flower shop, and quickly got the wrong impression. Soon, Cassie was seen at the Chariot Square Hotel and after initially ordering a soft drink, she asked manager Ryan Connor about the specials advertisement and decided to add alcohol to her beverage, and went on to get drunk. She soon got talking to the man sitting beside her at the bar, and things got a bit flirty. But soon, the man’s behaviour towards Cassie suddenly changed, and he was commenting on how drunk she was and warned her to stop making a show of herself. Cassie was confused by the change, but it wasn't until he left, having signed his bar tab, that Cassie glanced at the bill and realised she had been speaking to Tyrone's dad.

Fan Reactions to Tracy and Ross

Corrie fans may recall that Cassie told her mother about her ex-boyfriend, who had forced her into sex work when she was underage. Evelyn was shocked to learn that Cassie's father had discovered what was going on, and she was never able to get over it. She then reeled when she realised that Tyrone's father must have been one of Cassie's clients. Tracy has since been seen growing close to Ross, while Cassie has been trying to get rid of him. This week, her attempts to get a former partner to speak out about what he's really like failed after she changed her story. She arrived at the Rovers and said she's made up what she told Cassie, which came after Ross had earlier overheard her on the phone. But away from his war with Cassie, Corrie fans are baffled over his and Tracy's romance. @Sjl170 said: "It’s just so not believable to me that Tracy would date Ross on #Corrie I get she wants to annoy Cassie, but there is nothing about him that would have charmed her. What did he even do to captivate her? He is no Tommy O." @J_WBerry replied: "I keep thinking that, too! He's not her type at all. I don't think Steve is really, it's just she's known him since they were teenagers and she set her sights on him then. Steve is nostalgia for her." @lbozza17 commented: "Just don’t buy that Tracy would be interested in Ross one bit #corrie." @Audz32129841 asked: "Would Tracy really go after Ross? #Corrie." @maerlacqz0 added: "I do love seeing tracy more, and i like her rivalry with Cassie but I wish it wasn’t over this ross bloke. Also begging for Cassie’s exit not to be a murder like we’ve had enough of that #corrie."
