Coronation Street star Jane Danson has shared an adorable personal baby photo as she celebrated her son's latest milestone. The actress, famed for playing Leanne Battersby on the ITV soap, marked her eldest son Harry's 20th birthday on Instagram on Tuesday (July 14).
Adorable Baby Photo Shared
Jane posted a sweet picture of her doting on Harry as a little baby, gushing: "Happy 20th birthday to my darling Harry. I can't believe 20 years have flown by. Super proud of the man you have become. Never change." The post quickly received messages from her Coronation Street co-stars.
Catherine Tyldesley, who plays Eva Price, commented: "Oh Jane! This pic. Happy Birthday Harry." Sally Carman-Duttine, who plays Abi Webster, added: "What a gorgeous pic." Andy Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland, replied: "Ah Happy Birthday Harry." On-screen stepson Jude Riordan, who plays Sam Blakeman, shared: "Happy birthday Harry!" Junade Khan, who recently made his Corrie debut as Idris Nazir, also sent birthday wishes.
Jane Danson's Family Life
Away from her fictional life in Weatherfield, Jane has been growing a loving family with her husband, Robert Beck. The soap star, from Bury, has been with her husband for more than two decades. Robert is also a familiar face on TV, having starred in Brookside, Emmerdale, Waterloo Road, and even had a stint in Corrie in 2008. More recently, he played Fergus Collins in Hollyoaks and villain Damon 'Harry' Harris in Emmerdale in 2024.
After years of friendship that turned into romance, the couple tied the knot in 2005. They welcomed their first child Harry in 2006, and second son Sam in 2009. Jane tends to keep much of her private life out of the spotlight.
Son's Future and Empty Nest
Back in May 2025, during an appearance on Loose Women, Jane was asked about her sons and whether they would follow in her footsteps. She said: "I'm not sure. My eldest is studying media so he likes the behind the scenes. My youngest, I'm not so sure. He's got a little something about the acting thing but he's a bit too cool at the moment."
She added: "It's a really brutal industry as we all know. I just think be happy, do whatever is right for you. I'm not going to push him either way. I always wanted to do it. I've been acting since I was 10. It was my choice. I never expected it to turn into a career."
On Harry heading off to university, she shared: "I'm getting used to it. You feel a bit bereft don't you. You spend 18 years being all about them and knowing where they are and who they're with, then you have to let them go and have their adventures, like I did mine." She added: "I don't miss the washing, but I miss him."
Jane Danson's Corrie Career
Jane joined Coronation Street at age 17 in 1997, making her arrival alongside her father Les, step-mum Janice, and step-sister Toyah. In almost 30 years on the cobbles, she has tackled a host of storylines as Leanne, including losing son Oliver, who tragically died in 2020 from mitochondrial disease, and being brainwashed by The Institute.
