Coronation Street star Sally Carman debuts new look

Coronation Street star Sally Carman-Duttine, best known for playing Abi Webster on the ITV soap since 2017, has debuted a new look on social media, prompting an influx of compliments from her castmates and fans.

The actress, married to co-star Joe Duttine (who plays Tim Metcalfe), shared a smiling selfie on Instagram over the weekend. In the photo, she sports a different hairstyle compared to her previous post: after ditching her blonde tresses for a short cherry red style earlier this year, she has now returned to brighter, longer blonde hair with an ombré bronde effect.

Cast reactions flood in

Captioning her selfie, Carman-Duttine wrote: "She truly is!!!! @leahrileyhair you have smashed it again with this ombré bronde I LOVE IT. You and @greatlengthsuk_ie = DREAM TEAM #dreamteam #hair #leahforpresident." The post quickly drew responses from her Coronation Street co-stars. Betsy Swain actress Sydney Martin commented "so beautiful," while Sally Dynevor (Sally Metcalfe) replied "Gorg." Toyah Battersby star Georgia Taylor wrote "Beautiful," and Vicky Myers (Lisa Connor-Swain) posted "Stunning."

On-screen sister-in-law Sue Devaney (Debbie Webster) said: "Oh my gosh Sal! I love this!! You look absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Do you fancy a date?" Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie Plummer and is soon to leave the cobbles, added "Love your hair." Former Corrie star Sally Ann Matthews (Jenny Connor) chimed in with "Oooooo, fit."

Holiday with co-star

The hair reveal follows a recent fun-filled break away from the cobbles with co-star Sara Poyzer, who appeared on the show last year as dodgy car dealer Fiona Morley and returned not long ago. Poyzer, also known for playing Donna Sheridan in the musical Mamma Mia, shared a smiling picture of herself and Carman-Duttine on Instagram Story, captioned "Wasn't that fun" with heart emojis and what appeared to be the Croatian flag. Resharing the post, Carman-Duttine wrote: "The absolute funnest!" She also shared a video from Poyzer's page showing them donning snorkels and exploring water-filled caves, gushing "Best.Day.Ever!" as Poyzer called them "cave dwellers."
