Kyran Bowes, the actor known for playing Jack Webster on Coronation Street, has enlisted his ITV soap co-stars to create a sweet personal video message for his great-grandmother as she celebrated her 90th birthday.
Co-Stars Join in Surprise
The young actor was joined by his on-screen father Michael Le Vell (Kevin Webster), on-screen aunt Sue Devaney (Debbie Webster), and Sally Carman-Duttine (Abi Webster) to record a special birthday greeting. Bowes shared the video on social media, along with a photo of his great-grandmother, whom the family affectionately calls 'Queenie'.
In the post, Bowes wrote: 'Today we celebrated my great nans 90th birthday.. our ‘Queenie’ as we call her because she is the Queen of our family. We all love her so much and we wouldn’t be where we are today without her.'
Family Celebration
The family threw a party for the milestone, and Bowes arranged a video call with his sister, who works abroad and could not attend in person. He then surprised his great-grandmother with the video message from her favourite Coronation Street characters.
Bowes added: 'She’s had the most amazing day celebrating with us. We arranged a big family video call for her with my sister who works abroad and sadly couldn’t get home to see her. Then I surprised my Nan with a special message from some of her favourite Coronation Street characters which she ABSOLUTLEY loved!'
Gratitude to Co-Stars
Bowes thanked Sue Devaney, Michael Le Vell, and Sally Carman-Duttine for helping with the surprise, noting that his great-grandmother was emotional and excited to receive the personal message. 'She couldn’t believe you had personally sent her this so she was so excited and very emotional. Yes she did have tears,' he wrote.
Bowes has played Jack Webster since 2016, taking over from twins Jaxon and Maddox Beswick. The character is the teenage son of mechanic Kevin Webster and the late Molly Dobbs, who died in the Weatherfield tram disaster. Jack has had an eventful life on the cobbles, including a battle with sepsis that led to the amputation of his leg.
