Coronation Street fans think they know who really killed Theo Silverton, and it would put Sarah Platt in the clear and free her from behind bars.
Sarah's arrest and the murder investigation
Last week in the ITV soap, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of the murder of Theo Silverton, months after the builder's lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mum, Lisa Swain's, wedding to Carla Connor.
It came a few weeks after it was revealed to viewers that she was the one responsible for killing her best friend, Todd Grimshaw's abusive husband, after he was previously confirmed as one of five villains at risk of being killed off, alongside Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsey, Megan Walsh and Maggie Driscoll, during a flashforward episode of Corrie in February.
Theo's death and suspect list
Eventually, a week after the wedding aired, it was revealed that Theo was the victim, which came after he tried to torment Todd, who had earlier reported him to the police following a brutal attack, one last time.
His death then triggered a murder investigation, with Corrie confirming Todd as a suspect, along with his loved ones, George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, as well as Theo's friend-turned enemy, Gary Windass, and Theo's ex-wife, Danielle Silverton. But it was eventually revealed to Corrie viewers that it wasn't any of the six, as it was Sarah who appeared to deal the blow that sent a drunk Theo tumbling off the scaffolding outside his flat and plummeting to the ground - before she called on her former flame, Gary Windass, for help.
Fan theories on the real killer
However, Corrie fans don't seem sold that it was Sarah who killed Theo, thinking that while she may have hurt him, she wasn't the one to finish the job.
On X (formerly Twitter), when @Emmmmmer asked: "So what if Sarah didn’t actually kill Theo? #corrie," @CourtsZDP replied: "I don’t think she did, I think there’s gonna be a twist." The original poster then commented: "Me too!! It just seemed too easy of an outcome didn’t it?!" Meanwhile, @RajinderBa6149 responded: "Then Kit will be firing at Lisa for arresting the wrong murderer. End of the day Lisa was following the evidence which was leading to Sarah’s arrest. I think it’s Gary or Jodie that finished of Theo."
Elsewhere, @cleantethemiser suggested: "I think Jodie killed Theo. #corrie." @jameson_patricia shared: "Ok, my theory: Sarah hits Theo with pole. Theo falls off scaffolding. Sarah calls Gary. Gary’s says he’s dead. Theo’s foot twitches. Jodie comes along and finishes the job!!! It was JODIE!!!" @skycandlestix added: "Bet it was jodie that finished theo off."
