Coronation Street fans think they have spotted Idris Nazir's next romance, despite his ongoing relationship with Leanne Battersby, as they express concern about his growing bond with Sam Blakeman.
As viewers of the ITV soap know, the new character made quite the impression back in May as he strolled into Speed Daal and forced two inappropriate customers to pay up, supporting waiter Brody Michaelis and the restaurant's co-owner, Leanne Battersby, who were struggling to control them.
It wasn't long before Idris was seen taking Brody under his wing, while also striking up a sizzling new romance with Leanne, despite Alya Nazir warning her about her cousin's reputation.
Abi Webster's war with Idris
Idris' other link to the cobbles was exposed, as Abi Webster discovered that he was the landlord who had been ignoring all of her calls for months as mould took over the flat, before landing her son, Alfie, in the hospital.
Abi has since moved back in with her ex-husband, Kevin, but her war with Idris is far from over, as she was seen during Monday's (July 27) episode of Corrie warning her landlord that he should look out for some correspondence, as she's not letting him get away with what he's done.
The scenes, while only brief, left Corrie fans flocking to comment, with some suggesting Abi's anger could end up turning to lust for the dodgy newcomer. @snationed said: "I feel it in my tea leaves… I have no spoilers about them but I think there is chemistry… #Corrie." But @Izzy1728047 praised: "Abi the woman you are #Corrie."
Sam Blakeman concern
Meanwhile, there's also concern that Idris could end up recruiting Sam into his dodgy dealings after they met for the first time. As viewers know, Sam suffered a serious mental health ordeal, which came after he discovered that fellow teen Will Driscoll was being groomed by his coach and teacher, Megan Walsh.
Sam ended up being taken to Weatherfield General by his family, where he was later diagnosed with schizophrenia and underwent treatment. The teen has now been discharged from the hospital and was seen heading back to the flat he shares with his former stepmother, Leanne.
But what she didn't bank on was the eagle-eyed teen noticing that the laptop on the kitchen counter didn't belong to her, meaning she had to come clean about her new relationship with Idris. When Leanne revealed that she has a new boyfriend, she tried to reassure him and told him she would like them to meet. Later, Leanne was seen introducing Sam and Idris.
It was then, during the same episode that he had a run-in with Abi, that he was seen talking to Sam, trying to offer him support, after he left the Platt family gathering to welcome baby Harper home, after his uncle, David, didn't trust him to hold his baby daughter following his ordeal.
