Coronation Street fans are convinced that Theo Silverton is not actually dead after spotting a major clue in a recent episode. The villainous character, played by James Cartwright, was supposedly killed off in April following his abusive relationship with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce). However, viewers noticed what they believe is a sign that Theo may still be alive.
Theo's Reign of Terror and Death
Theo and Todd began a romance last year, but Theo quickly turned manipulative and abusive, controlling every aspect of Todd's life. He force-fed Todd, gaslit him, locked him in a bedroom, and isolated him from loved ones. Theo's abuse was relentless until he met his apparent end in April, when his dead body was discovered by neighbor Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin).
The list of suspects included Todd, Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Gary Windass (Mikey North), and Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson). Initially, police charged Summer with the crime, but this week it was revealed that Sarah Barlow (Tina O'Brien) was the real killer, a twist that shocked fans as Sarah was never a suspect.
Flashback Reveals Sarah as Killer
A flashback showed Sarah attacking Theo with a metal pole on scaffolding after trying to find Todd. She hit him over the head, causing him to fall off the edge and onto the ground below. Gary, called by a panicked Sarah, helped cover up the crime, and the secret has been kept for weeks. In Tuesday's episode (June 23), Todd began suspecting Gary killed Theo.
Fan Theory: Theo's Leg Movement
Despite the revelation, fans are now certain Theo didn't die from the fall, as they spotted his leg apparently moving while Gary attempted to cover up the crime. "We all saw Theo’s leg move, right?" mused one person on a Coronation Street Facebook fan page. Another added, "I don’t think he’s dead, it’ll probably be his secret twin at this point." A third penned, "Yes, he moved his foot!"
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
