Coronation Street fans are convinced Eva Price could be heading for a surprise affair with Carl Webster following her recent attack.
Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) first appeared in 2011 before departing in 2018. However, last year she made her comeback to the cobbles, taking over as landlady of the Rovers Return. Eva arrived back in Weatherfield with her new family, including partner Ben (Aaron McCusker) and his mum Maggie (Pauline McGlynn).
Accompanying them were his two lads Ollie (Raphael Akuwudike) and Will (Lucas Hodgson-Wale). The family has endured a turbulent few months, particularly after discovering that Will had been groomed by teacher Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) for months.
Eva's terrifying cellar incident
During last week's episodes, events took a frightening twist for Eva when she was left unconscious in the pub's cellar following an incident with Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan), who pushed past her. Sam - who has been battling with his mental health - was searching for his phone in the Rovers after it had been taken away by dad Nick Tilsley (Ben Price). While Eva was working, a distressed Sam encountered Eva and ended up rushing past her, sending her tumbling into the cellar, reports the Daily Star.
Rather than seeking help, he stood over her motionless body. Following Sam's hasty departure, Eva was ultimately found and rushed to hospital with her injuries.
Police suspicion and guilt
Eva was subsequently shown recuperating in hospital, with questions arising about the incident after cash also disappeared from the pub, prompting police to suspect Eva's attack was linked. Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) was subsequently identified as the prime suspect, leaving Sam consumed by guilt. Eva eventually recalled that it was Sam who had pushed her, and Sam came clean to his father Nick (Ben Price) and other members of the family.
Fan speculation over affair
However, fans are now convinced that as Eva continues to cope with the aftermath of the attack, she could end up being unfaithful to her partner Ben. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, viewers are speculating that she could embark on an affair with Carl.
"I can see Carl and Eva having a thing soon," said one viewer. Another added: "Yesss, can Carl and Eva get together plsss." A third chimed in: "Wouldn't surprise me." While another wrote: "Oh not another affair please! ?".
