Coronation Street: Evil Megan's Fate After Trial Revealed

Megan Walsh's Trial Takes a Dramatic Turn

Coronation Street spoilers have disclosed what lies ahead for Megan Walsh following her court case. Sinister Megan, portrayed by Beth Nixon, first appeared on the ITV soap last year as the athletics coach of Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale), who relocated from Hull to Weatherfield with his family. It subsequently emerged that Megan had been covertly grooming 16-year-old Will for months before his relocation. She was also expecting his baby, with the couple plotting to eventually relocate together. The reality of Megan and Will's relationship was then exposed, and Will subsequently reported Megan to police, leading to her arrest.

Megan Shows No Remorse

Since that point, Megan has displayed zero remorse and has even attempted to manipulate Will psychologically to persuade him to alter his account. This week saw the trial commence, with solicitor Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) representing the twisted paedophile's defence, reports the Daily Star. Yet in Tuesday's instalment (June 30), Will ended up breaking down while providing testimony in court. During his evidence, after making eye contact with Megan, he stunned everyone by altering his account in an attempt to shield her.

Will Changes His Story

He falsely claimed there was no relationship and that Megan had committed no wrongdoing. Following his outburst, the jury was dismissed, though the prosecution remained optimistic that Will could be recalled to the witness box. Meanwhile, Will's father Ben (Aaron McCusker) also gave evidence and faced harsh cross-examination from Adam. In the dock, Megan spins further lies, portraying herself as blameless while casting doubt on Ben's abilities as a parent.

Will Decides to Tell the Truth

Spoilers for the remainder of the week reveal that Will informs his family he wishes to give evidence once more, if the judge permits it, determined to reveal the complete truth about the incident. He takes the witness stand and prepares to testify. Later, the Driscolls arrive home and Will tells his brother Ollie (Raphael Akuwudike) that Megan's future now rests with the jury.

Verdict Awaited

In episodes airing next week, Ben receives a phone call confirming the verdict has been reached. Eva offers him a reassuring squeeze and at court, the jury announces their decision. But will justice prevail? Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
