Coronation Street's Betsy makes major choice about Dylan, Lauren disgusted
Coronation Street Betsy choice on Dylan disgusts Lauren

Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) has decided not to speak to the police about Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) after her stroke, but her best friend Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) is disgusted and has sworn to make sure Dylan does not get away with it.

Betsy suffered a stroke after engaging in consensual strangulation during sex. She was left with aphasia and dysarthria, affecting her speech and causing weakness in her right side. The doctor confirmed the strangulation was likely the cause. Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) blamed Dylan and reported him to the police despite Betsy's protests. Dylan initially refused to accept responsibility, but after Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) explained that even light pressure on the neck can cause a stroke, Dylan apologized and promised to make it up to Betsy.

Betsy refuses to give statement

In tonight's episode, a police officer arrived to take Betsy's statement, but she was unable to give one. She told Lisa that Dylan wasn't a bad person and hadn't meant to hurt her, and she didn't want him to get into trouble. Lisa argued that Dylan needed to face consequences because what he did was illegal, but she ultimately respected Betsy's wishes.

However, Lauren was not accepting of Betsy's decision. She has made clear her disgust at Dylan's actions and believes Betsy was a victim of sexual abuse. When Lisa told her that Dylan had apologized and Betsy didn't want to speak to the police, Lauren lamented that too many men get away with doing whatever they want without consequences. She swore she wouldn't let Dylan get away with putting Betsy's life at risk, leaving Lisa stunned.
