Pawn Stars' Corey Harrison Faces $100k Medical Debt After Motorcycle Crash
Corey Harrison's $100k Medical Bills After Motorcycle Crash

Corey Harrison, the 42-year-old star of the popular television series Pawn Stars, is facing a dire financial crisis following a severe motorcycle accident earlier this year. The incident has left him with over $100,000 in medical expenses, depleting his savings and forcing him to fall three months behind on rent.

Severe Injuries and Mounting Costs

In January, Harrison was involved in a collision that resulted in multiple serious injuries, including fractured ribs, a punctured lung, internal bleeding, and a concussion. The aftermath of the crash has been both physically and financially devastating for the reality TV personality.

Hospitalization and Surgeries

Initially treated at a hospital in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, Harrison was forced to check out early due to the escalating costs of his care. He returned to his home in Tulum, where he soon experienced excruciating pain that required emergency medical attention.

"Within hours, Corey was in excruciating pain," the GoFundMe campaign details. "A house doctor came in to administer IV fluids and morphine treatments. Corey was incredibly hesitant to take heavy pain meds, especially after losing his brother Adam to an overdose just last year, but the agony left him with no other option."

Life-Saving Interventions

The situation worsened when Harrison's oxygen levels dropped dangerously low. He was rushed to a hospital in Mérida, where new X-rays revealed one rib had completely separated and was pressing into his lung. Surgeons had to drain nearly three liters of blood from his chest cavity.

Harrison underwent three life-saving surgeries and spent an additional 18 days in the hospital battling through recovery. The total medical costs from his initial stay in Playa del Carmen, emergency house calls, urgent care visits, transportation to Mérida, and the multiple surgeries have now exceeded $100,000.

Financial Fallout and Fundraising Efforts

To cover what he could, Harrison emptied his entire bank account. Friends have reportedly maxed out their credit cards to keep his treatment going. The GoFundMe campaign emphasizes that being a television celebrity doesn't provide automatic financial protection in medical emergencies.

"Being on television and part of Pawn Stars fame doesn't come with a built-in safety net for emergencies like this — medical crises don't care about celebrity status," the fundraiser states.

Current Situation and Recovery Needs

Harrison is now three months behind on rent and continues to face ongoing medical expenses for follow-up care and medications. He's not yet strong enough to travel back to the United States for continued treatment and family support.

Every dollar raised through the GoFundMe will go directly toward covering his outstanding medical bills, back rent, ongoing medications and therapies, and future travel expenses for his full recovery.

Social Media Updates and Family Events

Harrison took to Instagram on January 26 to share updates about his condition, posting a shirtless picture from his hospital bed with his thumbs wrapped in bandages. He also shared selfies showing his cut face and X-ray scans of his broken bones.

"Pretty messed up but I'm good crash bars are awesome 3 nights in the hospital, 11 breaks in my rib cage," he wrote in the caption. He also mentioned having to miss his father Rick Harrison's wedding, writing: "Will do an episode on @theCoreyHarrisonshow sorry Pops looks like I'm missing your wedding."

Father's Wedding Celebration

Corey's father, Rick Harrison, married his fiancée Angie Polushkin on January 3 at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. The 60-year-old Pawn Stars veteran and his 42-year-old bride expressed their excitement about starting this new chapter together.

Rick Harrison had announced their engagement in March 2025, almost five years after filing for divorce from his ex-wife, Deanna Burditt, to whom he was married for seven years.

Fundraising Progress and Show Background

As of now, the GoFundMe campaign has raised $1,215 toward its $18,000 goal. Pawn Stars, which chronicles the three-generation Harrison family business as they evaluate unusual items brought into their pawn shop, has made the family household names, but hasn't insulated them from personal crises.

Harrison's situation highlights how quickly medical emergencies can create financial hardship, even for those with public profiles. The fundraiser continues to seek support from fans and well-wishers as he works toward recovery.
