Coleen Rooney has marked her first Mother's Day living in the United States with a heartfelt tribute to her own mother. The 32-year-old wife of footballer Wayne Rooney moved to Washington DC last year with her husband and their four sons: Kai, nine, Klay, five, Kit, three, and Cass, one.
Taking to Instagram, Coleen shared a family photograph and wrote: 'First Mother’s Day I am not going to be with you Mum, but we have loads to look forward to!! Thank you for making me ME and giving your everything to all of us and also helping me be a mum and raise my children. I love you so much.'
Wayne Rooney also paid tribute to his wife, posting a picture of her by the pool during a recent family holiday in Barbados. He captioned it: 'Happy Mother’s Day @coleen_rooney. Thanks for everything you do for our boys, we love you.'
The couple's holiday came amid reports of marital difficulties, following claims that Wayne had enjoyed an alcohol-fuelled night out with another woman. Coleen was pictured with her sons and Minnie Mouse shortly after the reports emerged.
