Chelsea and Wayne Rooney's youngest son Cass Mac has debuted a new haircut inspired by Brazil football legend Ronaldo Nazário. The 4-year-old was pictured wearing a Brazil top with a completely shaven head, leaving only a small patch of hair above his forehead, mirroring the iconic style Ronaldo sported during the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan.
Coleen shares holiday snap on Instagram
Chelsea Rooney, who finished as runner-up on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2024, posted the image of Cass on Instagram on 19 July 2026. She captioned it: "Summer holidays. Hair style fun." In a follow-up post, she attached a photo of Ronaldo with the same haircut and praised Cass for winning a summer league trophy, writing: "Summer league winners. Well done Cass and team."
Ronaldo's explanation for the haircut
Ronaldo previously explained that he adopted the unusual hairstyle to divert attention from a leg injury. He said: "I had an injury in my leg and everybody was talking about that. I decided to cut my hair and leave the small thing there. I come to training and everyone saw me with bad hair. Everybody was talking about the hair and forgot about the injury. I could stay more calm and relaxed and focused on my training."
Why Cass's name doesn't start with 'K'
Chelsea revealed during her time in the I'm A Celebrity jungle that she and Wayne chose the name Cassius with a 'C' because it meant "clever", whereas with a 'K' it meant "blackbird". Cass's middle name Mac comes from Coleen's maiden name McLoughlin, and her friends used to call her Coleen Mac. Since Coleen's middle name is Mary, Cass shares the same initials: CMR.
Family pride in eldest son Kai
The Rooneys also recently celebrated their eldest son Kai, 16, signing a first-year scholarship contract with Manchester United. Wayne Rooney, who is in the USA for the World Cup, shared the news on social media with the caption: "Proud of you @kairooney.10" and a red love heart emoji.
