Coleen Rooney has deleted an Instagram post in which she defended taking her young children to an Oasis concert, after facing criticism from fans who said the tickets should have gone to 'real die-hard fans'. The 39-year-old I'm A Celebrity star had shared a picture of her sons Klay, 12, Kit, nine, and Cass, seven, alongside husband Wayne at Wembley Stadium, watching Liam and Noel Gallagher from a VIP section. Their eldest son Kai, 15, was not present.
The post prompted a backlash from some users who accused the WAG of wasting tickets that could have been bought by dedicated fans. One troll wrote: 'Definitely something you should have done on your own. The kids being there is ridiculous. So many die-hard fans couldn't get tickets, and they wouldn't know them if they fell over them.' Coleen initially hit back by resharing the comment late at night, adding: 'He’s a big fan' with a laughing emoji, but later deleted the response.
Despite the negative comments, many others defended Coleen. One fan wrote: 'What a lovely photo,' while another said: 'There were loads of people taking their kids! I went to see them at Edinburgh – a real mix of ages – why shouldn’t anyone take their kids?' The incident comes as Coleen reportedly focuses on building her own brand, having turned down career opportunities while raising her four sons.
According to an insider, Coleen is determined to be recognised as more than just a footballer's wife. 'She’s sick of hearing that she would be nothing without Wayne or she only stays for the money. She’s now a multimillionaire in her own right and she’s not stopping there,' the source said.
