Loose Women star Coleen Nolan made a telling comment about her ex-husband Shane Richie during a recent episode of the Nolans Uncensored podcast. The 61-year-old television personality was discussing family holidays with her children when her son Shane Nolan revealed he was heading off on a trip immediately after recording.
Reacting to the news, Coleen expressed jealousy, saying: "I'm really, really jealous of you going on holiday today." When her son asked why, she replied: "Because I'm not going." However, her enthusiasm waned after learning more about the holiday plans. Shane jokingly invited her: "I'm going with dad, wanna come?" Coleen's response was swift and blunt: "No!"
"There we go then," her son replied, acknowledging her firm refusal. Coleen was married to Shane Richie, best known for his role in EastEnders, from 1990 until 1999. They share two sons, Shane Nolan and Jake Roche. She also has a daughter, Ciara, from her second marriage to Ray Fensome.
Despite their divorce after a rocky period, Coleen and Shane have previously spoken about remaining on good terms. However, in May last year, Shane made a light-hearted dig at his ex-wife's frequent references to him on Loose Women. Speaking to Bella Magazine, he said: "I only watch Loose Women to see what I'm up to, and you can quote me on that."
Pressed further about their co-parenting relationship, he added: "We met when she was 21 and I was 22, and we were mates. We just grew up together and we still are good friends. We've got two great kids together and now we're both grandparents."
Coleen has also spoken about maintaining friendships with her former husbands. On the Loose Women podcast, she described Ray as "one of my best friends" and revealed he still stays at her home when performing nearby. Asked by co-star Kaye Adams whether she had any romantic feelings for him, she replied: "No, no romantic feelings. We've been in my house on my own and both gone 'night' while he's gone into the spare room, I've gone into my room, and when you think for 17 years we shared a room, there's not even a moment of that. Not one moment."
Coleen's most recent public relationship was with Michael Jones, whom she dated for three years after meeting on a dating app. Following their split in 2024, she signed up to Celebs Go Dating, but despite going on various dates, nothing serious came from them. Previously asked why she believes romance hasn't worked out for her, she said: "I don't know. If you knew the magic ingredient, then it would be instant, wouldn't it? I just think with dating and with meeting someone, it's a connection with someone that you can't explain."
