Sam Elliott and Katharine Ross were joined by their daughter Cleo Rose Elliott at a season two advance screening of Landman at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in Texas on November 6. The family outing marked a rare joint public appearance for the trio, who last walked a major red carpet together at the 91st Annual Academy Awards in February 2019.
Elliott, 81, and Ross, 85, first met in 1969 on the set of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, but did not begin dating until 1978 after reuniting on the horror film The Legacy. They married in 1984, and four months later welcomed their only daughter, now 41.
Katharine Ross earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her breakthrough role in The Graduate and won a Golden Globe Award. She is also known for The Stepford Wives (1975) and Donnie Darko (2001), with over 60 acting credits until her last role in 2019.
Cleo Rose Elliott, who describes herself as an artist on Instagram, has had a strained relationship with her mother in the past. In 2011, Katharine filed a restraining order against Cleo, alleging she stabbed her in the arm with scissors. Court documents claimed Cleo had been verbally and emotionally abusive since childhood, becoming increasingly violent at age 12 or 13.
The mother and daughter appear to have resolved their issues, having made several public appearances together since the incident. Cleo frequently posts tributes to her parents on social media, including recent photos from their Texas trip for the Landman screening.
