Christine Tremarco Joins Beatles Series 'Hamburg Days'

The BBC has confirmed that Christine Tremarco, who won a BAFTA for her role in 'Adolescence', will join the cast of the new Beatles TV series 'Hamburg Days'. The six-part series, set to air on BBC One, chronicles the band's formative years in Germany, tracing their evolution from teenagers to global superstars.

Cast and Characters

Tremarco, a 49-year-old actress from Tuebrook, will portray John Lennon's guardian, Aunt Mimi. She joins a star-studded cast including Asa Butterfield as Beatles manager Brian Epstein and Jonny Lee Miller as Jim McCartney, Sir Paul McCartney's father. Other confirmed cast members include Louis McCartney as Ringo Starr, Darci Shaw as Cynthia Lennon, Ryan Sampson as promoter Allan Williams, and Jorden Myrie as Lord Woodbine. Previously announced actors include Rhys Mannion as John Lennon, Ellis Murphy as Paul McCartney, Harvey Brett as George Harrison, Louis Landau as Stu Sutcliffe, and Patrick Gilmore as Pete Best.

Creative Team and Source Material

The series is based on the book 'Hamburg Days' by Beatles associates Klaus Voormann and Astrid Kirchherr. Director Christian Schwochow, known for Netflix's 'The Crown', serves as showrunner, while BAFTA-winning composer David Holmes, who worked on 'Killing Eve' and the Ocean's franchise, will curate the music.

Background on the Beatles

The Beatles, formed in 1960, are the best-selling musical act of all time with 18 UK number one singles and 16 UK number one albums. During their Hamburg residency, they performed at venues in the St. Pauli district, most notably the Star-Club. An official release date for the series has yet to be announced.
