Christine McGuinness has hinted at a possible return to Celebs Go Dating after breaking down in tears and quitting the show during Tuesday night's episode. The 37-year-old model told viewers she 'wanted to go home' and preferred to meet someone in a more 'natural environment' away from the cameras.
In the emotional scene, McGuinness informed the agency's dating experts Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson that she had decided to leave. 'I think I need to date in more of a natural environment... I've made the decision to leave the agency,' she said. The mother of three, who split from comedian Paddy McGuinness in 2022, also cited missing her children as a reason for her departure.
Less than 12 hours after the episode aired, McGuinness surprised fans by hinting that her journey on the show was not over. On Instagram, she thanked viewers for their support and ended her post with the words: '@celebsgodating – To be continued.'
According to industry insiders, McGuinness's return has already been filmed and will air in the finale. A source told The Sun: 'Christine's return was kept top secret... it was great to see her come back. She started the journey with them all, so it was the perfect end that she got to finish the series with them too.'
Dating coach Anna Williamson praised McGuinness's decision to leave, calling it 'brave' and 'empowering'. She told the Mirror: 'Sometimes you only realise halfway through the process that it's not the right time. That's what happened with Christine, and we absolutely applauded her for recognising that.'
