Chris Hughes has shared that he'd love to say "I do" to JoJo Siwa one day, months after celebrating their first year of dating.
How they met
JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes first met when they both participated in the most recent series of Celebrity Big Brother, and although the win went to Coronation Street actor Jack P Shepherd, the now-couple found love in the house.
Viewers watched as their bond blossomed from strangers, to best friends, to a romantic relationship in real time. Their relationship faced some hurdles in the early days, as JoJo was in a committed relationship before starting one with Chris.
Ex speaks out
When JoJo and Chris left the Big Brother house and rumours bubbled about their relationship, JoJo's ex Kath Ebbs spoke out about the ending of their relationship as they were still together when JoJo entered the show.
Kath revealed: "But before I could get back to the hotel, it is actually crazy, I went to the after party with I guess my now ex - crazy thing to say - and I was dumped in the party. I was told there are confused feelings there - do with that what you will - and that they had realised in the house that I wasn't the person they wanted to spend the foreseeable."
Since then, Kath has spoken out multiple times about JoJo's new relationship, to which the singer now responded: "I'm just lucky enough that I saw things when I did. I could have spent more time in my life being in a bad place. And I'd rather not do that. It's interesting. . . It's funny to see what people do for attention."
Proposal plans
Touching on a potential proposal in the future, Chris shared: "I've definitely given it some thought. But I don't know the exact location or what time of day. I think spontaneity would be good, something a little bit different to your usual ways, but when it feels right, I'll know."
Speaking to The Sun, he added: "I come from a family where you get married, you have children, and that's what life's all about. I've got a huge family, lots of aunties, uncles and nieces, so obviously one day I'd love to have children of my own. I would love to be a certain age where I can still swing a club while they're good players as well. That would be cool."
He added: "I knew straight away, I really loved her personality. Within days of meeting, I thought, 'Oh my God, this is going to be my girlfriend'. We got along so well and we kind of had each other's backs in there."
One year anniversary
Earlier this year, the couple celebrated it being one year since they first met. Chris gushed: "one year ago today, I discovered your existence the first thing I ever said to you was, 'you're very colourful', and that colour still radiates every day! it's flown by, feels like yesterday I got out the bb house, crazy universe".
JoJo admitted: "I've come back to this 8 times now" before she added: "1 beautiful perfect year feels like yesterday and 10 years ago all at the same time. Forever grateful to that house for so many reasons, but there is definitely one special reason".
