Chris Hughes has spoken exclusively about his long-distance relationship with singer JoJo Siwa, revealing the couple have a mutual understanding that allows them to prioritise their careers while making time for each other.
The Love Island star, who met Siwa on Celebrity Big Brother last year, recently celebrated their one-year anniversary. Despite living on different continents, Hughes says the distance makes their reunions sweeter.
Balancing careers and love
"There's a real understanding in our relationship about the distance and allowing each other space for our careers and to prioritise seeing each other when we can," Hughes explained. He recently returned from a trip to the US, where he visited Siwa and her family in Palm Springs.
"Palm Springs, where JoJo and her family live, is a great place. I love the way of life. Playing golf with her dad and having quality time with Jojo as well," he told the Express.
Future plans
When asked about potentially moving to the US, Hughes said he is considering his options but has not made a decision. "JoJo loves coming over here, too, and seeing the differences between the two countries and our traditions. She loves seeing my family and spending time in the Cotswolds," he added.
Both stars are busy with their careers. Siwa recently performed at City Walk LA as part of the Hollywood Dance Experience and appears in Fox's game show Nation's Dumbest, hosted by Jack Whitehall.
Racing ambassador
Hughes continues his work as an ambassador for National Racehorse Week, having attended Cheltenham and Royal Ascot this summer. He emphasised the importance of the event: "Racing has an incredible story to tell, but people never get the chance to look behind the scenes, and National Racehorse Week is a chance to change that."
He added: "When yards open their doors, people see the level of care, attention, and commitment that goes into looking after racehorses throughout their lives. They see how much these horses are valued, not just as athletes but as individuals."
On whether Siwa might join him at the races, Hughes joked: "I do need to bring JoJo to one soon. We've spoken about it and need to make it work when she's over in the UK!"
