Chloe Lewis's Son Loses Finger in Ice Skating Accident, Mother Starts Petition for Safety Gloves

Former TOWIE star Chloe Lewis has revealed that her six-year-old son, Beau, suffered a horrific ice skating accident on New Year's Eve, resulting in the loss of a finger. The reality star, 35, shared the news with her nearly one million Instagram followers, explaining that she initially hesitated to go public but felt compelled to raise awareness and push for safety changes.

According to Lewis, Beau fell while ice skating and another skater ran over his finger with bladed skates, severing it. She received the dreaded phone call at 2pm on New Year's Eve and drove 45 minutes to reach him. Beau was taken by ambulance to The Royal London Hospital, where he underwent 3.5 hours of surgery to reattach the finger.

Despite the surgical team's efforts, the reattached part of the finger did not survive. Lewis said that if it does not fall away naturally, Beau will require another small operation to remove it. She described watching her child being put under anaesthesia as 'the worst thing I've ever experienced' and said the incident has 'completely broke me'.

In response to the accident, Lewis has started a government petition to make it compulsory for children to wear protective gloves while ice skating. The petition has already garnered 14,000 signatures. She hopes to reach 100,000 signatures, which would trigger a debate in Parliament. 'I hope one day I can tell Beau I changed the law because of him,' she wrote.
