Cheryl has shared a rare glimpse into her recent trip to Walt Disney World with her son Bear, nine, whom she shares with the late Liam Payne. The Girls Aloud singer, who typically keeps her personal life private, posted photos on Instagram that delighted fans, many of whom commented on how tall Bear has grown.
The post attracted a response from Liam's sister Ruth Gibbins, who replied with a handshake emoji and a joke about the Flight of Passage ride. It soon became clear that Cheryl and Bear were accompanied by members of Liam's family. Ruth later shared her own photos from Orlando, calling the journey a 'bittersweet trip'.
In her Instagram caption, Ruth wrote that walking around Liam's favourite rides in his favourite place was 'bittersweet, healing and at times so heavy hearted'. She added that the trip was made 'in your honour Liam, you'd have loved this trip'. Liam's girlfriend Kate Cassidy liked the post.
Cheryl had written on her own post: 'Somewhere in the corners of the world Magic still exists. I don’t know what took me so long to experience the joys of @waltdisneyworld but I completely escaped into my inner child for the last couple of weeks. What a wonderful place.'
Following Liam's death in Buenos Aires in October 2024 at age 31, Cheryl spoke about the harsh reality of Bear growing up without his father. She described the event as 'earth shattering' and said Bear 'now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again'.
Cheryl also recently dealt with a stalker case, where her stalker was imprisoned and given a lifetime restraining order. In a court statement, she said the incident had a 'huge impact' on her life and scared her son, adding that she relies on security and family for support.
