Cheryl Tweedy is reportedly eager to expand her family, with sources claiming the singer wants another baby even if she remains single. The 42-year-old former Girls Aloud star, who already has a nine-year-old son Bear with late ex-partner Liam Payne, is said to have been inspired by bandmate Nicola Roberts becoming a mother for the first time last month.
“Cheryl would love another baby and Nicola having one has made her think there is a chance,” a source told a magazine. “Bear’s had such a traumatic start to his early years, so she’d love to have a little brother or sister for him.” The source added that Cheryl has considered having a baby on her own, as “time is ticking”.
Cheryl has previously spoken about her broodiness, joking in 2019 that she wanted “100 kids” and stating that “you don’t necessarily need to be in a relationship”. More recently, she has said she would consider adoption. The singer has endured a difficult few years, including the death of bandmate Sarah Harding in 2021 and the tragic passing of Liam Payne in October 2024.
Despite her losses, Cheryl is said to be delighted for Nicola, who welcomed a baby daughter with fiancé Mitch Hahn. The source suggested Cheryl could become godmother to the baby, adding that the Girls Aloud members have grown closer following recent tragedies.
