Cher Lloyd's ex-husband's friends have hit out at the former X Factor star for sharing details about their marriage split on social media.
The 32-year-old singer made headlines this week after sharing a close-up photograph of her hand on Instagram, minus her wedding band. When one follower commented: “I have many questions, where is your wedding ring? What are we supposed to understand from your photos?” Cher bluntly replied: “It’s in the bin.”
Cryptic Posts and Reactions
Since then, the mum has continued to allude to her marriage breakdown on social media, sharing posts about having a 'gut feeling' and trusting your intuition. While Cher, nor her husband Craig Monk, have spoken out about the breakup officially, Craig's pals have now spoken to reporters, slamming Cher's behaviour as 'unfair' and a cry for attention.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, one unnamed friend said: "She's obviously spent the last few days photographing her hand. It seems to be for attention. To say that she's thrown her wedding ring in the bin is extremely disrespectful. Once something like that goes online, it's always online. I think it's quite obvious that she's not acting in a very mature manner. Maybe have an adult conversation instead of going straight onto Instagram."
Focus on Daughters
They also added that Craig's primary focus is on their daughters and he was currently 'OK': "Craig's OK. He's getting on with life and prioritising his two girls and that is literally all that is at the forefront of his mind. They are the only ones who matter in all of this."
The singer got engaged to Craig, a hairdresser, in January 2012, less than a year after they met when he fitted her hair extensions. They met when she was just 20, soon after Cher's success on ITV's The X Factor which catapulted the Worcestershire teen to fame. “I wanted to go for a cigarette but I couldn't go out the front because it was swimming with paparazzi. He was the only one who could take me out the back. So that's where I met him," she previously revealed.
She previously called their romance a "fairy tale" telling Loose Women in 2019: "You know when you grow up and dream of that fairy tale of course we've had our ups and downs, but honest it is like a fairy tale with me and him."
