Former Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby has defended herself after receiving backlash from social media users over a joke photo of her baby daughter on a plane. The reality star, who is on a family holiday to the Maldives with fiancé Jake Ankers and their two daughters, shared an edited image that appeared to show 11-month-old Pixi dangling from a fire exit sign.
The photo was part of a series of posts from the flight, which was delayed on the runway. Crosby later clarified that she had photoshopped her fiancé out of the original picture, in which Jake Ankers was actually holding Pixi up to the sign. She said she edited the image to pass the time during the delay.
In an Instagram story, Crosby read out some of the abusive messages she received, including one that called her 'scruffy' and questioned her parenting. She responded by sharing the original photo to prove it was a joke, saying she was 'gobsmacked' by the reaction.
Crosby and Ankers later addressed the backlash directly in a video, with Crosby stating, 'Anyone that thinks that my 11-month-old daughter scaled a plane and did pull ups on a pole...' before Ankers interjected, 'Needs to check themselves before they wreck themselves.'
