Charli XCX has released her latest single Camera, accompanied by a black-and-white music video starring French actor Vincent Cassel. The track is from her seventh studio album Music, Fashion, Film, due for release on July 25.

The video, directed by long-time collaborator Aidan Zamiri, opens with Cassel, 59, speaking angrily on the phone as a film crew applies makeup and blood to his face. He then steps onto a set depicting a fiery car crash wreckage, repeatedly acting out his character's death.
Charli, 33, appears wearing a floral shirt and matching capri trousers, seated atop a camera dolly, gesturing with a finger gun as she sings about the risks of creativity. Cassel re-enacts the scene, falling to the floor with blood pouring from his mouth, before a technical fault interrupts and he storms off to a director's chair.
Cinematic collaborations
The video ends with Charli singing along to the electronic track from the camera dolly. She thanked "everyone who made this happen" in an Instagram post to her 9.1 million followers on Tuesday.
This is not Charli's first cinematic collaboration; her upcoming album features Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg on the final track No One Lasts Forever. She also enlisted filmmaker Martin Scorsese, musician John Cale, and fashion designer Marc Jacobs for the album cover, tying together its themes of music, fashion, and film.
Charli's recent projects include a Wuthering Heights companion album for Emerald Fennell's film, and her mockumentary The Moment, released in January, which offers a semi-fictional look at the launch of her Brat album. She has also appeared in Pete Ohs's Erupcja and Julia Jackman's 100 Nights Of Hero this year.
