Former Big Brother star Chanelle Hayes looked almost unrecognisable as she showcased her remarkable nine stone weight loss in new photographs shared on Tuesday. The 38-year-old media personality, who appeared to have disabled comments on the social media post, presented a strikingly different appearance while posing beside a grey wall.
A Dramatic Transformation
Chanelle displayed her slender figure in a dark denim mini skirt, which she complemented with a white turtle neck jumper. She completed the ensemble with sheer tights and thigh-high black boots that added extra height to her frame. Styling her brunette hair into a chic bob, she finished the look with a sophisticated black handbag. The caption accompanying the images read simply: 'Soft changes, steady energy'.
Weight Journey and Surgical Intervention
The celebrity, who first rose to fame as a contestant on Channel 4's Big Brother in 2007, has experienced significant weight fluctuations over the past four years, with her weight oscillating between seven and seventeen stone. In 2020, after years of struggling with body image issues and harmful eating habits that began during her teenage years, Chanelle opted for a gastric sleeve operation as what she described as her 'last resort'.
The surgical procedure, which has also been undertaken by other celebrities including Vanessa Feltz and James Argent, reduces the stomach's size by approximately 70-85 percent to restrict food intake. This intervention helped Chanelle regain control over her eating patterns and resulted in her losing nine stone, shrinking from a size 18 to a size 6.
Additional Procedures and Body Confidence
Following her substantial weight loss, Chanelle faced the common issue of excess, sagging skin that caused her considerable distress. She subsequently underwent multiple surgeries to remove this surplus skin, along with a breast reduction and uplift procedure that decreased her bra size from a G cup to a D cup.
In an exclusive conversation with the Daily Mail in July, Chanelle acknowledged that while the gastric sleeve surgery has given her newfound confidence, certain areas of her body still make her feel insecure. However, she firmly stated that she has concluded her surgical journey after undergoing two breast surgeries, multiple rounds of liposuction, and several procedures to tighten loose skin.
Chanelle explained: 'With my sleeve, they take about 70 percent of your stomach out and leave you with, instead of it being like a round pouch, it is more like a sausage shape. It's massively decreased compared to a normal stomach, which means that I can't eat or drink as much.'
She continued: 'It's perfect for me because it's always been such a psychological thing - I automatically reach for anything. It's been good to have that physical barrier there, and from that, I lost a lot of weight quite quickly.'
Career Shift to OnlyFans
Chanelle has since made a significant career transition, leaving behind her student nursing position to pursue potentially lucrative opportunities on the subscription-based platform OnlyFans. A source revealed to The Sun: 'After years of study and dedication, Chanelle has made the difficult decision to step away from her nursing career.'
The insider added: 'Nursing was a path she pursued out of a genuine desire to care for others, but over time, she found herself increasingly frustrated by the lack of time she could spend with patients. The emotional strain of not being able to give the level of care she wanted eventually became too much to bear.'
According to reports, Chanelle received numerous messages and requests from fans who have followed her since her modelling days, encouraging her to join the OnlyFans platform. Despite achieving approximately 90 percent satisfaction with her body following her surgical procedures, Chanelle acknowledges that perfection remains elusive, stating: 'There is always room for improvement, but who looks in the mirror and thinks they're perfect.'
