Nadia Essex, a dating expert on the E4 reality show Celebs Go Dating, has been suspended from the programme following allegations of improper use of social media. The 36-year-old, who had been with the show since its launch in 2016, will not continue filming for the fifth series.
A show spokeswoman confirmed to BBC News: 'Nadia has been suspended following improper use of social media.' While the exact details have not been officially disclosed, reports from The Sun suggest that Essex set up fake Twitter accounts to send abusive messages.
Her former co-host Eden Blackman, who left the show after the fourth series reportedly due to a fallout with Essex, has commented on the suspension. He linked to an article on his Twitter account that alleged Essex's trolling was directed at him. Essex has yet to release a statement regarding the allegations.
Filming for the current series is ongoing, with celebrity contestants including Eyal Booker and Olivia Attwood from Love Island, Chloe Sims from TOWIE, and Alik Alfus from Made in Chelsea. Essex was working alongside new co-host Paul Carrick Brunson. The series is expected to air in late September.
