Celebrity Traitors Renewed for 2026 After Record Ratings

The BBC has confirmed that Celebrity Traitors will return for a second series in 2026, following record-breaking ratings for its debut season. The first series, which aired in October 2025, concluded with 15 million viewers, making it the biggest title of 2025 across the UK at seven days so far this year.

The series also achieved the highest on-demand audience of any series since records began, with the sixth episode reaching 15.2 million viewers at 28 days. The series averaged 14.8 million viewers per episode at 28 days, including 3.1 million viewers aged 16-34.

The show featured 19 celebrities competing in the iconic Traitors castle, with comedian Alan Carr emerging as the winner. Carr raised £87,500 for his chosen charity, Neuroblastoma UK.

Alongside the renewal, the BBC published an Economic Impact Report revealing that The Traitors franchise—including UK, US, and Celebrity editions—has generated an estimated £21.8 million boost to Scotland’s economy since filming began in 2022. Hayley Valentine, Director of BBC Scotland, said: 'The Traitors is an immense TV success story and it’s fantastic to have multiple versions of it filmed in Scotland.'

Claudia Winkleman will return as host for a new series of the original Traitors early next year, with 22 contestants competing for up to £120,000.
