Celebrity Traitors fans predict Hannah Fry exit after cliffhanger

Fans of The Celebrity Traitors believe Professor Hannah Fry may be the next to leave the game, following a major cliffhanger in the latest episode. The BBC murder mystery returned with 21 celebrities, two of whom, Richard E Grant and Maya Jama, were chosen by Claudia Winkleman as Traitors. They recruited James Acaster and sent Amol Rajan home in the first episode. Viewers now await whether Richard will be the first celebrity banished after exposing himself as a Traitor in a notable blunder.

Screen time sparks fan theories

The second murder is also looming, with Jerry Hall and Professor Hannah Fry vulnerable after Jerry opted to remove them from lying in graves during a tense challenge. One fan shared a theory on Reddit, writing: “The amount of screen time Hannah has had scares me.” They added: “To preface, I really like Hannah Fry and would like to see her last in the game, but I think the amount of screen time in episode 2 alone signals that she is going home, that or Jerry really didn't say much that the editors could use. I even think the strategic method would be kill Jerry then Hannah will naturally be voted off. Unless the editors are double bluffing us, I think Hannah's away home.”

Another fan replied: “I'm rooting for her, she's my favourite celebrity there but smart faithfuls never last, unfortunately.” A third predicted: “Hannah won't last long, she's playing the game like its a puzzle to solve and is currently hyper-visible with a target on her back after the "too obvious" comments (and the death-wish pairing with Jerry, gulp!). So what if the traitors do the obvious and eject her? Doesn't make it any easier for the celebrities to uncover a traitor.”

Fans cite game strategy

“I really like Hannah but have come to terms with the fact that she is he is going,” someone else said, as another agreed: “The clever people always go quickly sadly.” Someone else wrote: “Early on, you can usually tell who will go out soon by the fact that you see quite a bit of them, because production will give them a bit of exposure even if they are not in the game for long. Would probably not go down well to let someone leave the game with a total of two minutes of screen time.” Another shared: “She’s def getting murdered. She relayed the info about Leigh-Anne [Pinnock] doing her makeup while Maya was in the car. Maya has seen that Hannah is proactive about trying to catch traitors. Plus it will put heat on Leigh-Anne if Hannah goes. It’s a no-brainer murder for the traitors.”

Hannah Fry on joining the show

Ahead of the series, Professor Hannah spoke about her decision to take part. “I mean, who would ever be given this opportunity and turn it down? Can you imagine?! You’d spend the rest of your life being like, "Oh, I was the person who could have gone on The Celebrity Traitors and said no." I think this will genuinely be one of the most important, amazing experiences of my life,” she said. She added: “What an absolute treat to be in this beautiful castle, incredible surroundings, and with some of the biggest names in the entire country playing games that a whole team have spent months planning and preparing, all whilst getting to be involved in strategy and subterfuge. I mean - amazing!”

She continued: “I would say I am toxically competitive. Yes, to a fault. I have to try and rein that in. This really is a team game. Especially for the Faithfuls. The only real way the Faithfuls are going to win it is if they act as a team. And I probably would rather be a Faithful. I think it would be really fun to be a Traitor, like amazingly fun but I want to enjoy this experience as much as I possibly can for however long it lasts, and I think that I'll enjoy it more if I get to be a truer, more honest version of myself.” Celebrity Traitors continues on Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
