Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins saw its first casualty on Monday night as Australian reality star Jessika Power handed in her armband, admitting she had reached her limit. The Channel 4 series, which returned on January 4, features two squads of celebrities from the UK and Australia facing brutal military-style challenges.
The British team includes Love Island stars Gabby and Dani Dyer, social media personalities Jack Joseph and Cole Anderson James, rugby legend Ben Cohen, Gladiator Toby Olubi and cricketer Graeme Swann. The Australian roster features MAFS star Jessika Power, cricket player Brad Hodge, Olympic swimmers Emily Seebohm and Mack Horton, and performers Axle Whitehead, Ryan Moloney and Natalie Bassingthwaighte.
During Monday's episode, the celebrities were tasked with crawling through 230 metres of mud-filled tunnels and confined spaces to destroy an enemy communication tower. Content creator Jack Joseph was the first to attempt the challenge but soon struggled, exclaiming, "I'm going to faint." He was helped to safety by teammates.
Jessika Power then decided to quit during a subsequent exercise, stating, "I can't do it." Viewers took to social media to react, with one writing: "Jessica has completely changed from the #MAFSAU days. She quit too soon." Another added: "I didn't think Jessika would be the first to quit, I thought it would be Danni."
Natalie Bassingthwaighte was also on the brink of surrendering her armband after the gruelling ordeal. Earlier in the episode, psychiatrist Dr Gareth had assessed the contestants, describing Jessika as "an attention seeker" and predicting Natalie would "go into a spiral."
