Celebrity MasterChef has confirmed the five contestants who will compete in Finals Week, following the elimination of Tamer Hassan in the latest semi-final episode. The show aired on September 13, with the remaining six celebrities tasked with creating a decadent dish for restaurant critic Grace Dent and judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
The semi-finalists included Tamer Hassan, Vito Coppola, Ian 'H' Watkins, Craig Doyle, Rochenda Sandall, and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey. Each contestant aimed to impress the judges with indulgent dishes, from Craig Doyle's pan-fried tomahawk steak to Rochenda Sandall's Korean fried chicken, which received high praise.
After deliberation, Rochenda, Vito, and Harry secured their places in Finals Week. Craig and H were also chosen to continue, leaving Tamer Hassan eliminated. Tamer described his departure as 'bittersweet' but acknowledged his achievement in reaching the semi-finals.
Finals Week will see the remaining five celebrities compete for the Celebrity MasterChef 2024 title. The show continues to air on BBC One.
