Courtney Stodden, the former Celebrity Big Brother star, has been left covered in blood after a freak accident involving a dropped phone. The 31-year-old took to Instagram to share gruesome images of the incident, which occurred in public, and warned followers to be cautious in everyday situations.
Stodden explained that she bent down quickly to pick up her phone and hit her head on the edge of a counter, splitting it open. 'There goes the fire truck, they’re like, we’re not dealing with you,' she said in a video, adding that she ended up in the emergency room where the wound was glued shut.
In a caption, Stodden wrote: 'Don’t bend and snap… slow down. Dropped my phone, reached too fast, and hit the edge of a counter so hard my head split open blood everywhere… ended up in the er getting it glued shut. Nothing glamorous about moving too fast just to grab something that doesn’t matter.'
The accident comes just days after Stodden posted a cryptic message on Instagram about past trauma, writing: 'The amount of trauma I have from people I thought loved me is crazy.' Fans offered support, with one commenting that Stodden deserves nothing but love, to which Stodden replied: 'thank you, i'm still learning what that even looks like.'
Stodden, who is non-binary, first rose to fame at age 16 after marrying actor Doug Hutchison, then 51. The couple divorced in 2018. Speaking about the marriage in a past interview, Stodden said the experience made them stronger: 'Traumatising experiences can either break us or we can utilise them to shape us into a stronger individual.'
