Cats with 'Alien Eyes' Struggle to Find Home

Two rescue cats, Leo and Lily, have struggled to find a forever home in the UK due to their unusual 'alien' appearance, despite making a remarkable recovery from severe eye conditions. The pair, now two years old, were found on the streets of Egypt in a 'horrendous state' with serious eye problems that required surgery. They have since been fostered in Egypt and are ready to travel to the UK, but potential adopters have been put off by their looks.

Rescue and Recovery

According to a statement from Miracle's Mission, the charity that rescued them, Leo and Lily were in dire condition when found. 'They were found on the streets in Egypt in this horrendous state. But they made a good recovery and thankfully no eyes needed to be removed - remarkably!' The cats now weigh 4kg each, are neutered, and are described as calm, peaceful, and closely bonded to each other.

Adoption Appeal

The charity has launched an appeal to find a home for the pair together in the UK. Social media users have expressed sympathy and admiration for the cats. One commented: 'Poor babies. I can't believe how bad their eyes were! They are lovely cats. I hope they find a loving home together!' Another added: 'What beautiful cats. How amazing do they look now.' A third wrote: 'They're stunning.'

About Miracle's Mission

Founded in 2015, Miracle's Mission aims to provide safety for animals in danger, educate on neutering, and neuter stray animals to prevent suffering. The charity is named after Miracle, a puppy rescued from Borneo who survived maggots, ringworm, and blood parasites, and now lives happily with adopted sisters. The charity states: 'Her aim is to help save many more animals in need around the world.'

Anyone interested in adopting Leo and Lily can contact Miracle's Mission at info@miraclesmission.org.
