Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has shared her delight at meeting country singer Luke Combs after a hilarious mix-up with gig tickets.
Earlier this year, the actress, who returned to the ITV soap last year in the role of Eva Price, thought she had bagged the ultimate Christmas present and had planned the perfect outing for herself and her husband, Tom Pitfield, to see Luke Combs perform in Manchester.
However, she revealed on social media at the time that she had suffered a blunder, finding themselves at a tribute show instead of the concert of the popular performer.
How the mix-up happened
Catherine explained in a video posted to her Instagram page that she was struggling to know what to get her other half for Christmas last year, but knew he liked Luke's music.
"I got some tickets. I was like 'No way is he coming to Manchester!'" she continued. "Typed in 'Luke Combs Manchester tour dates 2026.' Comes up, Bridgewater Hall. And I was like, 'No way is he coming to Manchester?' Then I got the tickets and the tickets were like, I don't know, 30 quid each."
"And I was like, 'What? This is insane.' Went into work, flexing. I was like, 'Oh my God, I got Luke Combs tickets.' People were like, 'Oh, we couldn't get them.' And I was like, 'I've got them. Mic drop!'"
However, when they attended the show, things weren't quite adding up, with seats still available, and when who they thought should have been Luke Combs came on stage, the penny dropped that it wasn't the one they were hoping to see.
Meeting the real Luke Combs
They laughed off the blunder, but a month later Catherine returned to social media to reveal that the team at Sports Entertainment Tours had seen their video and wanted to make sure they got to see the real singer, and they even made it one better, as the soap star has since shared pictures of herself and Tom with the man himself.
Sharing the pictures on Instagram on Monday (July 20), Catherine, who shares children Alfie and Iris with Tom, told her followers: "Special doesn't even come close!!! It turns out @lukecombs had heard all about our 'Mix up' and invited us to do a meet and greet (pinch me now)."
She added: "An incredible talent and such a kind soul. He even had a picture taken with Irises mermaid (she insisted the mermaid attended the concert). Huge thankyou to @lukecombshq Jess and the amazing team. Massive wife points."
