Cat Deeley spiralling over sons' happiness after split

Cat Deeley has admitted to "spiralling" and "losing sleep" over the well-being of her sons, Milo, ten, and James, eight. Speaking with The Sun, the presenter, who announced her split from husband Patrick Kielty last year, said: "I probably worry about the kids more now than I did then [when they were little]. I just want them to be happy, and I tend to worry a little bit too much."

"Sometimes when I can't sleep at night, I go into this kind of spiral of, 'Will they be happy, and will they find something that they love to do?' and 'Will they find someone to love?'. You just want the best for them. I have a great team of people around me. I have a brilliant nanny who's basically my right-hand woman. She's just ace," Cat continued. "It was one of my good decisions to come back to the UK so that I could be close to my family and my friends, and also so the boys can go to school here."

Positive attitude

Cat, who is dating a new man, according to The Sun, noted that she always tries to maintain a "positive" attitude. "Nobody goes through life without, at some stage, having a problem in one way, shape or form. That's impossible. It doesn't matter what it is. What matters is how you deal with it," she explained.

Split confirmed

Cat and Patrick, who tied the knot in 2012, officially confirmed their split in July 2025. "We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved," they said in a joint statement. "We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment."

In the 15 months since, the pair have continued to co-parent their sons while getting to know other people. Last month, Patrick was reportedly spotted on a date with businesswoman Michelle McManus, and as of July, Cat has been linked to Amazon MGM boss Charlie Coleman, though neither has publicly confirmed their romance.

Friends' reports

In a report published by The Sun, Cat's friends alleged that she was "genuinely happy" for Patrick and Michelle. "Cat's attitude is: 'Good luck to them.' At the end of the day, that's the whole point of separating in the first place," a source supposedly told the publication. "She is genuinely happy for him and knows it's good for them that he's happy and positive. Cat herself is in a great place, and that's where she wants to stay."
