Cat Deeley's New Year Beach Break: White Bikini Swim & Moving On After Split
Cat Deeley enjoys New Year beach break after Patrick Kielty split

This Morning presenter Cat Deeley has been soaking up the sun on a New Year's beach holiday with friends, sharing a clip of herself enjoying a sea swim in a stylish white bikini. The 49-year-old host appeared relaxed and happy as she took a dip in the ocean, wearing large black-tinted sunglasses during her 'wild swim'.

A Refreshing Start to the Year

The Instagram video, posted on Sunday, showed Cat making the most of the coastal break. Before her refreshing ocean swim, she was seen enjoying a drink on the beach with her pals, soaking up the winter sun. The getaway served as a pause before her return to work, with Cat later revealing she spent her flight home diligently studying her This Morning scripts, ready for her return to screens on Monday.

To welcome the new year, Deeley also shared a highlights reel from her 2025, captioning it to admit the year had been 'a lot of fun'. This reflection comes in the wake of her separation from husband of 13 years, Patrick Kielty, 54. The couple announced their plans to divorce in a joint statement released in July 2025.

The End of a 13-Year Marriage

In their statement, Cat and Patrick confirmed they had decided to end their marriage and would remain united as parents to their two children. They stressed that 'no other party' was involved in the breakdown of their relationship. It is believed the divorce was privately finalised at the start of 2025, before the public announcement months later.

Speculation about trouble in the marriage first arose in March 2025, when Cat was notably absent from the funeral of Patrick's mother in Ireland. A source close to the Kielty family told the Daily Mail that her 'no show' at the funeral caused deep emotional scars and was the moment the family realised the marriage was over for good.

'Whatever rockiness was going on in the marriage, something as momentous as his mother's funeral, you would make up even temporarily,' a relative said. 'The fact that she stayed in London and presented This Morning on the day, it's not been forgotten.' A spokesperson for Cat explained at the time that she remained in London to be with her two young children before and after school on that sad day.

Looking Forward with Friends and Family

Despite the personal sadness of the split, Cat has appeared to be moving forward positively, supported by her friends and family. The former couple, who first met in 2002 while hosting BBC's Fame Academy, began their romance a decade later. Patrick famously flew from Belfast to Los Angeles, where Cat was hosting So You Think You Can Dance, to turn their friendship into something more.

They went public with their relationship in May 2012 and married in an intimate ceremony in Rome that September. After living in California for ten years, they moved back to the UK, driven by Cat's desire to be closer to her family. As she steps into the new year, Cat Deeley's focus appears to be on her work, her children, and enjoying life's moments, both big and small.
