A reader has shared an anecdote about a Casualty actress offering medical assistance on a flight, following an article on TV medical dramas.
Flight incident
John Fisher, from Eastleigh, Hampshire, wrote to the Guardian about a flight back from Malta. His wife, a nurse, responded to a pilot's call for medical assistance. She found a hysterical woman on a seat, with a cabin crew member and another woman standing over her.
Actress's claim
When asked if she was a doctor or nurse, the woman replied: "No, I'm an actress, but I've been in several episodes of Casualty." The cabin crew member told her to clear off, and John Fisher's wife looked after the hysterical woman. Fisher commented: "Some of these actors really get lost in their parts."
