BBC Weather presenter Carol Kirkwood has announced her marriage to partner Steve. The wedding took place on Wednesday in Buckinghamshire.
Kirkwood, 61, described the ceremony as "the most perfect and romantic and intimate wedding," adding that the couple are "both so incredibly happy." She revealed the news on BBC Breakfast.
The presenter had announced her engagement live on BBC Breakfast from the Chelsea Flower Show in 2022, showing off her ring during a weather forecast. She recalled that Steve proposed during a picnic, saying she thought he was joking at first.
In a post on X, Kirkwood thanked well-wishers and clarified that the wedding was not secret, but private. She and Steve are "bursting with happiness," she wrote.
Kirkwood joined the BBC Weather Centre in 1998 and has won best TV weather presenter at the Television and Radio Industries Club Awards nine times. She also participated in Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 and has written several novels.
While Kirkwood has kept many details about Steve private, she previously told Prima Magazine that he is "extremely handsome" and "always making me laugh," and that he makes her tea before her early morning shifts.
