Cara Delevingne has confirmed that she was romantically involved with Amber Heard during her high-profile divorce from Johnny Depp, revealing that the actor was 'driven crazy by jealousy'. The model and actress made the admission on The Louis Theroux Podcast, finally putting to rest years of speculation.
Delevingne Confirms 'Entanglement' with Heard
During the podcast, Theroux directly asked Delevingne about the rumored relationship, referencing Depp's jealousy. Delevingne responded: 'We were close for a long time and then when they were going through the divorce, yeah, we were entangled, I suppose, but she was also entangled with other people.' She explained that the relationship began while they were filming London Fields together, a movie that also starred Depp.
Jealousy and the Divorce
Theroux pressed further, stating that Depp was 'driven crazy by the idea that Amber might be sleeping with you.' Delevingne replied: 'I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy. I suppose nothing was happening at that point. Later, after they divorced, it had I suppose.' She also acknowledged that Heard was 'entangled' with Elon Musk, responding 'There we go' when Theroux mentioned it.
Legal Battles and Settlement
Heard and Depp married in February 2015, but she filed for divorce in May 2016, which was finalized in January 2017. The pair then engaged in a lengthy legal battle, including a defamation case where Depp sued Heard over a 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post. Depp also sued The Sun for libel over a headline calling him a 'wife beater', losing that case in November 2020. In 2022, a jury found Heard had defamed Depp, awarding him more than $10 million in damages, while Heard received $2 million in her countersuit. The pair announced a settlement in December 2022.
Previous Rumors and Denials
During Depp's defamation case, claims of a 'three-way affair' between Heard, Delevingne, and Musk emerged. Musk denied the ménage à trois to Page Six, stating: 'Cara and I are friends, but we’ve never been intimate.' Delevingne and Heard were rumored to be sharing a hotel room in September 2016, after becoming friends in 2014. Metro has contacted Amber Heard's reps for comment.
