Caprice Bourret, 48, known for her modelling career and successful lingerie brand By Caprice, has shared a stark warning after a benign brain tumour was discovered following a minor accident. The star, who has graced the covers of Vogue, FHM and Sports Illustrated, was appearing on the television show The Jump when a fall led to routine hospital tests.
During her training for skeleton racing, Bourret began experiencing headaches and vision problems. 'I started to see ten of everything,' she explained on Loose Women. She visited a doctor who ordered a series of scans, which unexpectedly revealed a brain tumour.
The neurosurgeon delivered the news calmly, Bourret recalled, telling her not to be alarmed but that she had a brain tumour. Fortunately, the tumour was benign, but she still required a seven-hour operation to remove it. The skull is very rigid, and any growth can cause symptoms such as headaches, vision issues, and mood changes.
Bourret made a full recovery and now urges others not to take their health for granted. 'When something like this happens you really change a lot. I appreciate life. I’m going to enjoy my life,' she said. She advised anyone experiencing early symptoms of a brain tumour to speak with their GP immediately.
