Scare City, a scare event ranked among the UK's best, is set to return this Halloween to the abandoned Camelot Theme Park in Charnock Richard, Chorley. The experience promises to be its "largest, darkest and most psychologically brutal evolution to date."
Visitors will be led deeper than ever before into areas not previously accessible to the public. New sections of the park will be unlocked, and a never-before used entrance and exit route will strip away all familiarity for returning guests.
Nine new zones
Nine new zones have been announced, designed to plunge guests into psychological terror. These include Cutthroat & Co, inspired by the chilling legend of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. CarniValley returns as the only surviving recurring zone, but it has changed: the ringmaster no longer runs the show and instead creates survival. Freaks, outcasts and wonders are forced into escalating games of endurance and submission, and the survivors become part of the attraction.
Beyond the scare zones, guests will be pulled into new layers of horror across the site. Newly unlocked park areas will be exposed for the first time following the fire and will be reactivated as living environments, where decay, debris and darkness now form the architecture of the experience. A never-before-used entrance and exit route ensures guests cannot rely on memory, landmarks or escape logic.
Visitors can find food and drink options at 'Rest Bite', an area hidden within the experience that "appears to offer a welcome escape from the chaos."
Dates and tickets
The event will run from September 26 to November 7. Tickets can be purchased online.
Another Halloween event, Newsham Scream Park, will return to Liverpool this October with a "completely reimagined experience." Set inside the former Newsham Park Hospital, built as an orphanage in 1879 and later a hospital and asylum, it will host its fourth season with its biggest event yet. Four brand-new scare mazes, a redesigned site and a reimagined guest experience will be introduced. Opening from Friday, October 9, the event is adults only with a minimum age of 14. Tickets are on sale, with further announcements on the themes of the new mazes to be revealed in coming weeks.
