Calvin Harris Heartbroken Over Pet Cockerel's Death

Scottish DJ Calvin Harris has expressed his devastation after his beloved pet cockerel, Smokey, was killed by a neighbour's dog. The music producer, who recently became a father, shared the news on social media, posting a picture of himself holding the bird in his garden.

Harris wrote: 'RIP Smokey we love you. Raised this lad from chick to a majestic cockerel.' He added: 'Murdered by the idiot neighbours grimey dog. Absolutely gutted.' The post has drawn sympathy from fans and followers.

The incident comes just a week after Harris and his wife, Vick Hope, announced the birth of their first child. The couple welcomed a son named Micah on July 20, with Harris hailing his wife as a 'superhero' and sharing intimate details of a water birth at home.

Hope, a former BBC Radio 1 presenter, had kept the pregnancy private until late May, explaining that she valued her privacy. She gave birth on a balcony surrounded by greenery, and the couple chose to preserve the placenta, a practice known as placentophagy.
