David Beckham met King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday, just days after Prince Harry reportedly hosted his son Brooklyn. The former England captain, who has become a regular fixture at royal events, discussed his recent 50th birthday celebrations with the royal couple.
Queen Camilla asked about Beckham's wife Victoria, whom she met in March at a charity gig. Beckham said: "She's doing very well. I had a busy weekend this weekend, so it was a lot of fun." The King and Queen are understood to have sent Beckham a birthday gift, with Charles asking: "You got it, didn't you?" Beckham replied: "It was incredible, thank you, it was very kind."
Despite his close bond with the King and Prince William, relations with Prince Harry appear to have cooled. Reports suggest Harry confronted Beckham over leaked stories about Victoria helping Meghan Markle, leaving the former Manchester United star "furious". The couples attended Harry and Meghan's wedding in 2018 but have since drifted apart.
Beckham was named a King's Foundation ambassador last year and has worked with Charles on rural skills projects. The pair also share an interest in beekeeping. In contrast, Beckham's friendship with Harry and Meghan has soured, with the Sussexes reportedly upset over media reports about Victoria's assistance.
