Brooklyn Beckham has ignited fresh controversy with a new DoorDash advert that appears to reference his ongoing rift with parents David and Victoria Beckham. In the clip, he smirks and says, 'You're probably wondering why I'm watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home... It's a long story,' before tossing tickets onto a coffee table as a cryptic message flashes: 'It's complicated. More soon.'
The advert, posted on Instagram, drew immediate criticism from fans who accused him of profiting from family heartbreak. Comments included 'He must've got paid big bucks for throwing shade' and 'If you hate them so much drop the name and stop profiting from association.' Others spotted apparent digs, such as a stack of unopened letters—interpreted as a refusal to communicate with his parents—and a new watch replacing the £250,000 Patek Philippe Nautilus gifted by his father.
The timing of the advert coincides with David Beckham receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which Brooklyn did not attend. A family friend told the Daily Mail: 'To do an advert based on estrangement from family as if it's a joke when his family is devastated and his sister and grandparents are inconsolable is shocking.'
PR expert Mayah Riaz suggested Brooklyn may be acting out of frustration, telling The Mirror: 'What could look like a deliberate dig can often be an expression of hurt or a desire to regain control of a narrative.' She warned that such public gestures risk damaging his professional reputation, adding, 'Family feuds are usually more damaging than beneficial in the long term.'
