Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham have celebrated Christmas with her parents, Nelson and Claudia Peltz, amid a reported rift with his own family, Victoria and David Beckham. The couple posted photographs on Instagram showing them in matching red festive pyjamas alongside Nicola’s billionaire father and mother.
Nicola captioned the post: “We wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year filled with so much love, peace, and happiness.” Brooklyn’s parents were notably absent from the celebrations. On Christmas Eve, Brooklyn shared a picture of him holding his wife’s hand on his Instagram Story, describing her as “my everything”.
Meanwhile, Victoria and David Beckham spent Christmas with their youngest son, Cruz. The fashion designer posted videos of Cruz playing guitar while David had a home pedicure. David also cut down a Christmas tree, with Victoria comparing him to Clark Griswold from the National Lampoon’s Vacation films.
The estrangement follows reports that David and Victoria unfollowed Brooklyn on Instagram, though Cruz later denied this, stating that his parents had been blocked. A rumoured rift between Brooklyn and his brother Romeo began in April over Romeo’s then-girlfriend, who had allegedly briefly dated Brooklyn. Brooklyn and Nicola missed Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week show in June and David’s birthday in May, which sources said caused tensions.
In August, Brooklyn and Nicola held a vow renewal ceremony officiated by Nicola’s father, with no Beckham family members present. Brooklyn broke his silence in September, telling the Daily Mail: “There’s always going to be people saying negative things, but I have a very supportive wife. Me and her, we just do our thing, we just keep our heads down and work. And we’re happy.” He added that he does not worry about headlines: “Everyone is always going to say rubbish.”
