Romeo Beckham has issued a heartfelt message to his older brother Brooklyn, urging him to cherish loved ones, in the wake of the tragic death of Premier League footballer Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Felipe. The brothers died in a car crash in Zamora, Spain, near the Portuguese border, just days after Jota's wedding.
Taking to Instagram, Romeo initially shared a picture of the Liverpool star with heartbroken emojis. He later posted on his Stories a cryptic note directed at Brooklyn, emphasising that 'the people that truly love you and care for you will always be there'. The message comes amid reports of a family rift between Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz and the rest of the Beckhams.
Romeo wrote: 'Life is too short, love who you love and tell them how much you really do! Life can flash before your eyes at any moment! But the people that truly love you and care for you will always be there... Don't hold back from LOVE OR APPRECIATION for ANYTHING OR ANYONE.'
David Beckham also paid tribute, sharing a black-and-white image of Jota in a Portugal shirt with the caption: 'Devastating to hear this such sad news.. Sending love to Diogo & Andre's families.'
The Beckham family has faced strain recently, with Brooklyn and Nicola skipping David's 50th birthday celebrations in May and failing to acknowledge his knighthood. Father's Day passed without a public message from Brooklyn, fuelling speculation of a deepening divide.
